What will we do on our tour?
Hunters Maple Bush is a family owned and operated maple farm. We provide an authentic, in depth explanation of the sugaring process, from tree to table. We have an educational agricultural focus and tours are roughly an hour long.
We will meet at the Maple Shop. From there we will hike through the bush with an explanation of the harvesting and collection of sap & view one of the pump houses. We will then continue to the Sugar House where you will see first hand the transformation as sap is boiled down to produce our liquid gold maple syrup.
$10.00 / person, 13 and over
What will we do on our tour?
This option is great for those who are most interested in the sugarhouse itself and just wish to see the last half of the above tour. This tour is roughly 30/40 minutes long. You will be given a brief explanation before entering about the collection of sap and how it gets to the sugarhouse. We will then enter where you will see first hand the transformation as sap is boiled down to our liquid gold maple syrup.
$5.00 / person, 13 and over
All tours include a sample of our fresh maple syrup that we have produced that day (if we are not boiling or the syrup is not yet ready it will be from previous day).
After either tour you are welcome to sit around the fire and enjoy a coffee and visit our shop.
Our entire season is dependant on the weather - with that being said our start dates and end dates change each year!
Generally our season runs for 4-6 weeks from mid February to start of April.
Keep an eye on the website for the pop up NOW BOOKING or check out our instagram for updates on when our tours will commence.
Our tours are by APPOINTMENT ONLY. Due to high demand, we no longer offer private tours.
We book our tours through email only please huntersmaplebush@gmail.com or you can hit the contact us button here on our site!
In your email please include the number of people in your party and preferred date along with your phone number. We will try our best to accommodate but as we are a family farm and space is limited we fully book fast.
If you are an organization - we unfortunately are not able to accommodate buses.
- Upon your arrival you will be asked to sign a Farm Liability Waiver. We are a functioning farm and although we have taken all the proper precautions to keep you safe, there are some things we cannot control, ie. falling limbs, while you are participating in farm activities.
-Please keep your furry friends at home
-Please do not smoke in the bush
- Our trails are unfortunately not stroller or wheelchair friendly however you are absolutely welcome to try. Our bush is in its natural state so the trails are not paved / gravel. They will often be snowy or muddy. A great option is a toboggan for the kids if there is snow.
- DRESS FOR THE WEATHER
We cannot stress this enough! A lot of the tour we will be outside in the bush. Be prepared for snow, ice, wind and mud as the season gets warmer. Proper footwear is imperative. Dress like a farmer would.
-As you will be in a group with others please be considerate and be on time for your tour. A 5 minute grace period will be given, afterwards the tour will commence. If you are late and unable to make the tour please call so we are aware and can attempt to reschedule.
- There may be a possibility of us cancelling your tour due to inclement weather. We will try our best to give you as much notice as possible but often times this is a last minute decision as weather is always changing.
- We cannot guarantee to be in active production at the time of your visit. If it is cold, the lines will be frozen therefore we will not be collecting the sap to boil and run the evaporator.
- Parking is limited, please consider carpooling if you have a larger group
- We do not have a pancake house & we are not focused on entertainment
- Portable washroom will be onsite
Unfortunately our 2024 sugaring season has come to a close.
We would like to thank those who were able to join us this spring for a tour and for everyones continuous support in our Maple Shop. If you missed out this year, we look forward to welcoming you next season!
